After the rain comes the sun! Initially we planned to tour Fuji Five Lakes 富士五湖 the day before and went to Hakone 箱根 that day. However, due to the bad weather, we ended not going to the five lakes the day before. After discussions, we decided to skip Hakone and toured Fuji Five Lakes instead.
Since we went to Kawaguchiko 河口湖 last November, we went to Lake Motosuko 本栖湖 first, the weather was clearer than the day before, however, clouds still covered up the Mt. Fuji tip!

One lake side that faced Mt. Fuji was the spot where it was printed on 1000 yen bill. Too bad it was covered by the cloud.

unable to match this sakura!♥
Next, we went to Lake Shojiko 精進湖. There were people camping and playing water sports. The most happening lake!

camping! rowing boats! with Mt. Fuji as background
like this tent inside tent
don't know the reason for the boats to be aligned in one row
Next lake was Lake Saiko 西湖. We could see that it was finishing spot. It was surrounded by Aokigahara Sea of Trees 青木々原樹海. The water was the lake was crystal clear. It was the second smallest lake next to Lake Shojiko.

However, by this time, we had not seen the Mt. Fuji white cap. So, we went to Mt. Fuji 5th Station 富士山五合目. It was on the Yoshida Trail and it was 2305m above sea level and nearer to Mt. Fuji tip. Here, we finally see the white cap of the Mt. Fuji. Before we reached 5th station, the road jammed like hell, so we parked the car on the roadside and walked up there for 1km. There were shuttle bus service, however, the queue was long. We figured that it would be faster if we walked.
5th station is accessible by Fuji Subaru Line
after Subaru entrance, the road to 5th Station jammed!
finally, the Mt. Fuji white cap from near distance
We reached 5th Station. It was actually made up of restaurants, souvenir shops and a temple. From here, can see the Mt. Fuji up closed.
5th Station
① Mt. Fuji climbing
② notice asking to save water, water was sourced from Kawaguchiko for 20000 yen per wagon
③ the monument of the oldest person who climbed Mt. Fuji
④ a lot of tourists!
the temple next to 5th Station (can see Mt. Fuji cap clearly from here)
i like this cute yellow Teruterubouzu 可愛いてるてる坊主 (better looking than the white one)
there was a group of undergraduates who cycled up to 5th Station, they cheered for their friends when they finally reached the destination!
We finally achieved our aim to see the Mt. Fuji. Since Cissy had to rush for her bus on 5pm in Shimizu 清水, we left even though haven't having lunch. To our horror, the road from Mt. Fuji 5th Station to Shimizu was jammed. The car barely moved even in highway! So, Tee broke the speed limit and drove really fast after we passed the jammed road. We reached Shimizu Station right before 5pm and Cissy got on her bus on time.
Special mention:
When we went to Kawaguchiko from Kofu, we heard a special tune when passing a stretch of road, we thought that the sounds came from a modified car near us. It was not, it came from the road itself, the Fuji Melody Road 富士山メロデイポイント, we found out about this when we were on our way to Shimidzu and came across the signs. The principle was grooves are cut at very specific intervals, when car moves, it will produce a series of high and low notes, creating a distinct tune.

Another was the opening of new highway, ShinTomei 新東名 bound for Nagoya and Shizuoka. First, we planned to use the new highway to go to Shimizu, however, obviously there were a lot of people who had that intentions, it jammed. So, we used the old highway, Tomei 東名.
