Golden week holiday 2011 Part 5 (One Day in Nagasaki)

30th April 2011

After we picked up our friend, we decided to have our lunch, Champon mee (a Nagasaki famous dish). It was like yellow noodle in Malaysia, just with more ingredients. However, I didn't like the taste of the soup.
Dejima Orange Day

After that, we went to Dejima. (site of former Dutch Factory, according to the pamphlets). That day is Dejima Orange Day, since I brought a orange bag, I didn't have to pay for ticket.  There are a lot of reconstructed former marine officers residents, quarters, etc. Kind of boring, but we walked around the place and then left.
26 Martyrs of Japan
Peace Park
Next we stopped by the statue of 26 Martyrs of Japan. After taking some photographs, we went to the Peace Park. The weather was no good and kept raining, both my shoes were wet and i have to wear it for another day. Since it's quite late into the evening, the peace museum is closed. So, we went to the next stop, Mt Inasa observation platform for the city night view. We were quite early and the day still bright. So, we waited until the night came, however, the rain and fog made the visibility worse. So, we all stay inside a enclosed area at the top of the platform and ran out to take photos when the rain was smaller. The view was not great due to the weather. After that, we decided it's time for dinner, so we went to Nagasaki china town and have Sara Udon (another speciality of Nagasaki). Again this dish was quite a disappointment. It was too salty. However, this was a local delicacy and my dinner, so again force myself to finish it.

By the way, the shops in Nagasaki Chine town closed quite early, by the time we were there, around 8pm, most of the restaurants were closed. Only a handful left, so if anyone want to eat in this area, have to be early. After that, we went back to the hostel and stayed for another night.
