AMPM 10X Peptide Ultra-Light UV lotion SPF30

Sunscreen, a very important skin care item not just to prevent ageing, but also to prevent sun burnt and prevent skin cancer. On every working day, the final step of my morning skin care steps is to apply sun screen. On weekends, if I don't wish to go out, I don't apply. If I go out, I will apply too.

My previous sunscreen was from the Shiseido Aqualabel range and it's pretty good. I bought this AMPM 10X Peptide Ultra-Light UV lotion SPF30 when I was travelling in Taiwan because I was looking to buy some Made in Taiwan stuffs. AMPM is a brand by Naruko and the review online was quite good. However, after I bought this, it's kept inside a drawer for a long time until I ran out of my Aqualabel sunscreen and I didn't manage to get a replacement fast enough. So, I started to use this AMPM SPF30 sunscreen.

Frankly, since the sun damage is difficult to see on the face immediately, it's not easy to gauge whether this sunscreen works or not. I just keep the faith that it did help to prevent the UV damage on my face.

Below shows the ingredients list of the sunscreen. The main ingredients are Octylmethoxy Cinnamate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate. According to Wikipedia, Octylmethoxy Cinnamate is used to absorb UVB rays and Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate is used to absorb UVA. Other than that, on the product name itself, it has the words "10X Peptide", in the product description, it mentions that it can help prevent ageing too. Well, I just take it as a pinch of salt.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box and saw the bottle was the design. It has a rather sharp edge. So, it looks like a sharp oval shaped bottle. Hahaha, it looks thinner than the spine of the book, Maskerade.

I felt that this AMPM 10X Peptide Ultra-Light UV lotion SPF30 is creamier than the Aqualabel Moist Perfect Milk UV SPF 28 PA++. And it is way better than the Exuviance Sheer Refining Fluid SPF 15. Although it leaves some white cast. It will be gone after awhile, not in one or two minutes though. And it wouldn't form any tiny precipitates on my face although sometimes I skipped the moisturising cream, unlike the Exuviance Sheer Refining Fluid!

On the photo below, one can see that it is not very runny.

After a few rubs, one can still see the traces of the sunscreen on the skin.
After a few rubs
Finally, few more rubs made it less visible. However, after some time, the sunscreen would sink into the skin and not so visible under the sunlight. Weird, it looks whitish in the photo but in actual, it is very much not noticeable.

So, I have no problem with this sunscreen and when I felt it's almost finish, I bought this exact same sunscreen back. The reason being Hermo do not carry the Aqualabel sunscreen and I was really lazy to go out and buy that time. Funny, the second bottle I bought from Hermo has the same expiry date as the one I bought in Taiwan. The purchasing date was like more than one year apart! Anyway, I have started to use this second bottle and have no issue with it. So far so good.

Happy applying sunscreen to protect the skin!
