18th September 2011
Since the USJ will open on 9pm, we slept until quite late, just in time to catch the train to USJ. While in the train, there were a lot of parents with children. All happily waiting for USJ. Some kids already wore cartoon character clothes and hats. When we reached there, there were a lot of people queuing up to buy tickets. Luckily for us, my friend already bought the ticket in Osaka Station. We just waited in another queue to get inside, skipped one queue. Once inside, I quickly grab a bottled drink because I was out of supply, it was so expensive, it cost 200 yen per bottle. No wonder I saw a guy brought a big bag full of bottled water.

After went inside and took a photo with the big globe, we rushed to the "The amazing adventures of Spider-man - The Ride", our first ride. There were long queue already. However, there were 9 of us, so we kept talking, so it was not boring. Inside the Spider man building, there were a long hall way for people to queue. There were mock Peter Parker's office and all things related to spider man. I particularly like the quotes from Parker's editor, sound like most bosses anyway. The ride was ok, but the effect was awesome, well in my opinion anyway.

'get pictures, get stories, then safety first!' hahaha!! |

After that, few of us went to take photos with the spider-man. Luckily, there was not many people. Some went to queue up for the "Back to the Future - The ride" first. By this time, the queue was longer compared to our first ride. Luckily the water dispensers were prepared along the queue, or else I would faint due to hydration. The weather was quite hot.

the queue! |
Next, we went to "Jurassic Park - the ride". Since it was no longer early, the queue getting longer and longer. The staff at Jurassic Park keep yelling "hitori, hitori, single ride" (hitori = 一人), so my friend, Kenix went to have some information about this single ride. After coming back, she told us that since some rides offered double seats, or quadruple seats, when the group was in single number, then one seat will be left vacant. So, the seat would be offered to single rider. After observing the queue, we decided to go for single ride although riding in a group would be more fun. The single ride line was faster. A lot of parents came with one child. So, left one seat. Not long after that, we all managed to get a ride although individually. First, I thought this ride was so dry, nothing special. However, I was so shocked that I actually yelled when the boat suddenly drop from a high waterfall. I did not have the mental preparation yet.
After that, we had lunch in the Jurassic Park. The restaurant was called 'Discovery'. The meat was shaped like dinosaur skeletal. Again, long queue. A lot of people opted for take out. However, we girls were tired, so we opted for a seat inside the restaurant.

Our lunch! |
After lunch, we checked that the WaterWorld show would be shown on 2pm. Since it would be 1 hour left, we decided to go for 'Jaws' first. We rode as single rider. So, right before 2pm, all of us managed to get a ride and rushed to the 'WaterWorld' show. It was a big stage and could accommodate a lot of people. The audiences in front of the main stage were all covered with rain cloth, while I was still wondering, the actors poured water on the audiences. Ooooo, luckily I was not the one being poured at, however some waited early just to get poured. Hahaha! The show was nice, the explosions scene was fantastic and looked so real, we could even smell the gasoline.

After that, "Space fantasy - the ride", although the ride was scary, but the scene was fascinating. Although we waited for single rider ride, the queue was long, the waiting time almost the same with the normal line. After the space fantasy, the day time parade was on. We were lucky to catch this.

After that, went to see "Terminator - 3D". Frankly speak, this 3D was so so only in today's standard. Next, we found that "Backdraft" was having the shortest waiting time, so we queued for that. It was a movie by Robert De Niro, he looked so young back then. "Backdraft" has quite some stunning effects, however, it was not the show for kids younger than 5 years old, I kept hearing cries.

Then, we thought to see the 4D show of Shrek. However, the last show for Shrek finished by this time. We settled for "Sesame Street - 4D Movie Magic". We queued for more than an hour for this. Some were too tired and sit on the floor, it was nearing night time, so the floor was not hot. This show was quite good, although I did not fully understand (all in Japanese!). After the show, we ate our dinner. The one that finished fast went to look for a seat for the night parade. We agreed to meet by the big globe when the show finished. By the time I tried to find a place, all nice one was taken already. So, I stood behind a couple with child. The view was nice as long as the people in front of me did not move too much. The illumination was stunning.

After a wonderful parade, I moved to the big globe. However, some wanted to buy souvenirs before going back. So, me and another friend went back first. But, we departed at the wrong door and had to spend a few more minutes for the train to come. So, those who went back late actually reach the hostel earlier than us. One of my friend worried that we were lose and frantically call us. Luckily, we still in once piece. No harm done!
