Since the people from the tourist information center strongly recommended the Adachi Museum of Art 足立美術館, we went there because for foreigners, the ticket was 1100yen after 50% discount. We caught the 8.35am train to 安来市 Yasugi from 松江 Matsue, hoping that we could catch the 9am shuttle van to the museum. However, since there were too many people, I was the only person who couldn't get into the van, so all my travel mates got off the van and let other people queuing behind me to go first. Since the next turn would be 10am, we decided to go to the observation platform of Yasugi Hill to see the view because it was near. It was a small hill with few steps. It was a small town, so there was nothing to see. We stayed there for few minutes, snapped some photos and went back to the train station to wait for the bus. The town was famous for eel, so inside the 安来市 train station, there were many dolls shaped like eels.

The Adachi Museum was quite a major let down because everything inside was a Japanese theme garden. Very delicate and detailed, but quite mundane, plus that was summer, the worst season for the view. This garden was for people who appreciate beauty of man-made garden. To me, it's not interesting.

After that, we took the shuttle van to 米子駅 Yonago station to rush to 境港 Sakaiminato. It was a very interesting place, even the train to the Sakaiminato station was very colourful with the Kitaro pictures. The train station was even named as Kitaro Station, imagined that, named after a mango character, moreover a spirit. The whole town centered around the ゲゲゲの鬼太郎 kekeke no Kitaro, a manga created by Shigeru Mizuku. The manga was all about spirits, ghosts and monsters. The road lamp posts were all shaped as an eye ball with different colours. There was a long street with all the shops dedicated to the manga characters selling all sorts of dolls, cookies, cloths, etc. There were many copper statues of the manga character. There was even a 100 yen book that explained all about the ghosts, and there were slots for people to stamp. The stamping tools were the characters from the manga. I didn't buy the book, however, I stamp on a story book I bought along to read on train. It was quite nice looking. Then, we visited the museum honouring the manga's author. There are introductions about the author and everything about the manga. There is a shop named 'Monster food evaluation center' and it sells something sweet shaped as eye ball. So gross! However, a lot of people bought it, not me though! Me and my friends stayed in Sakaiminato until very late, to me, it's the highlights of this summer trip, so fun!
